Mr. Doak led the design team to a Context Sensitive Design Award in this highway reconstruction through the historic village of Middleburg just 30 miles from downtown Albany. We were challenged to retain the slate sidewalks as required by SHPO while complying with ADA requirements. The waterline was directional drilled to reduce impacts to the trees and charm of the historic neighborhood.
